Bolton

gap technical are representing an established food manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their facility in Bolton.

Performance Objectives

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately within required timescales.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of the Engineering department.
  • Help achieve Engineering KPIs and operational targets.
  • Participate in both planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Assist with the development and full utilisation of the CMMS system.
  • Mentor and support fellow team members where required.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Production and other support departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety regulations, and Food Hygiene standards.
  • Maintain plant and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Identify and implement productivity and labour-saving improvements alongside production teams.
  • Provide technical engineering support and training to Line Technicians.

Person Specification

  • Strong engineering knowledge gained within an FMCG maintenance environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload effectively and demonstrate high performance standards.
  • Multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias with ONC / NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Maintenance Engineering.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
