Job Description
Solely responsible for completing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance tasks for all textile machines including sewing machines, slitting, cutting and site repairs. Responsible for improvement work using effective problem-solving and troubleshooting across our Stoke and Bury facilities.
Working hours
- Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
Responsibilities
- Dual site responsibility. Role to be based at Stoke but, with regular travel to our Bury, slitting and warehouse, facility
- Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that tasks are completed on time in line with company objectives.
- Attend breakdowns and ensure downtime is kept to a minimum and recorded for improvement purposes.
- Contribute to site asset condition register to assist in identifying areas for investment.
- Identify and source / obtain required parts, supplies and repair items as required.
- Maintain stock of routine parts.
- Maintain equipment and repair/ replace as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and ensure their compliance with security requirements and company policies and procedures.
- General housekeeping of the workshop and stores.
- Testing of the weekly fire alarm.
- Liaise with contractors and ensure contractor compliance with site security, policies and procedures as required (permit to work).

Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or textile environment
- Formal qualification or equivalent experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
Additional Education, Experience, Skills And Abilities Preferred
- Experience of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Experience in textiles; Sewing, cutting and slitting
- Site maintenance repairs, including facilities (lighting, plumbing, building maintenance etc)
Competencies
- Have a proactive approach to HSE to ensure an accident-free workplace.
- Multi-skilled engineer with electrical and mechanical experience.
- Ability to analyse and solve complex problems.
- Flexible in approach and attitude to work.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Competent IT skills including outlook, windows and excel.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and on own initiative.
- Able to work calmly and effectively when under pressure.
