Maintenance Engineer
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maximising machine uptime through planned preventative maintenance and the prompt resolution of breakdowns across the site. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, overseeing the installation, relocation, overhaul, and repair of machinery, and ensuring all machines and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and are fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to Company Rules, Health and Safety, and Environmental Standards and Practices
- Carry out Preventative Planned Maintenance to ensure all assets are safe and reliable for use
- Perform fault-finding on all assets; identify and repair machine breakdowns
- Identify and support corrective actions on asset/process limitations
- Work with and install single-phase and three-phase electrical circuits
- Attend training and continuous development opportunities when required
- Continuously improve reliability and cost-effectiveness of all assets
- Contribute to the company’s objectives and core values

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems and breakdown repair
- Good understanding of and proactive engagement in health and safety requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to unplanned issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to undertake shift work (including back shift, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays), overtime, and call-outs as required
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including:
- Hearing protection
- Gloves
- Hard hat
- Safety shoes
- Safety glasses
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and a company medical
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing techniques
- Proficiency in IT software (e.g., Microsoft Office)

Desirable Requirements

Proven record of actively promoting safe working practices

Time served in a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineering role within a Manufacturing environment

Basic knowledge of PLC control systems

Previous experience with *annualised hours patterns

Additional experience in wearing PPE and ability to pass tests with:
- Drug and alcohol (hair follicle) screening
- Company medical and background checks

Multi-skilled Engineering experience

Qualification in IEE Regulations (18th Edition)

Strong interpersonal skills
