Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in a site offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is an exciting night shift opportunity for an experienced and proactive Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide comprehensive support to the packing department.

In this role, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal machinery performance and minimal downtime. The position offers a chance to work within a regulated environment that values safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as the Maintenance Engineer will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Provide multi-skilled electrical and mechanical support to ensure continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct installation, commissioning, modifications, and reactive repairs of site equipment in line with safety and compliance standards.
  • Identify and develop cost-effective solutions to improve machinery efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to support operational goals.
  • As the Maintenance Engineer, you will support and mentor colleagues, ensuring effective shift handovers and collaborative working.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Maintenance Engineer, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Automation).
  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within a regulated, "clean room" or GMP environment.
  • Good knowledge of current regulations including health & safety, environmental compliance, and good manufacturing practice (GMP).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
