Maintenance Engineer / Shift Leader

Location: Frome / Bath

Salary: £42,000 to £50,000 (DOE)

Shift Pattern: Double Days, Monday to Friday

They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer and/Shift Leader who is looking to make an instant impact on a site and contribute to the growth of the business through hard work, commitment and dedication.

About the Role

You'll become part of a supportive engineering team where training, development and career progression are genuinely encouraged.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of a wide range of production equipment, including Fillers, Mixers, Capping Machines, Cooling Tunnels, Robotics, Wrapping Machines, Labelling Machines, Checkweighers, Conveyors etc.

  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault finding
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
  • Working on 3-phase systems, motors, sensors and control equipment as well as bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, belts, chains, drives etc
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the site

The Candidate

We're looking for a positive team player who enjoys working within a collaborative maintenance environment and is keen to develop their skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Engineering qualification at Level 3 or above (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled)
  • Previous maintenance engineering experience within an FMCG Manufacturing, Production or Industrial environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with a focus on root cause analysis
  • PLC experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Proactive approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
