About the Role

The Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in keeping our production lines running, resolving breakdowns quickly and delivering planned maintenance to the highest standard. The role also includes responsibility for keeping engineering parts and stock well-organised and accurately tracked, ensuring the team always has what it needs to keep machinery running.

Maintenance & Engineering

  • Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production line machinery
  • Attend breakdowns promptly and work to resolve them efficiently, minimising downtime
  • Complete PPM tasks and daily checks in a timely and thorough manner
  • Work within the CMMS system to manage work orders, track tasks, and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with the Company's Hygiene Code of Practice, Food Standard Practices, and Health & Safety requirements
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, serviceable condition
  • Drive continuous improvement across the factory, contributing to enhanced quality, efficiency, performance, and waste reduction
  • Support the training and development of others, and identify own training needs
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with the Operations Manager
  • Provide support to other engineering teams as required

Parts & Stores Support

  • Liaise with the Engineering team to understand asset requirements, PPM programmes, and associated stock needs
  • Maintain the stores area in an organised, accessible way to support efficient engineering work
  • Coordinate the ordering of parts required for reactive tasks, as defined on the relevant work order
  • Manage stock reordering in line with pre-set minimum/maximum stock levels
  • Support monthly cyclical stock takes as directed
  • Help ensure stores activity is accurately reported and auditable (e.g. reorder status, outstanding deliveries)
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties, responsibilities, or requests as issued by management from time to time

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG or food production
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and work order management
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and food safety compliance requirements
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage parts and stock accurately alongside maintenance work
  • Strong knowledge of bearings, pneumatics, electrical control systems, process control, fault diagnosis and safety

9am-5:30pm
