What are you going to do?
As a Maintenance Engineer Field, you are responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance on Voortman machines at customer locations throughout the United Kingdom. Your main goal is to keep equipment operating reliably and efficiently, helping customers minimize downtime and maximize performance. You will travel regularly to customer sites, working independently to perform inspections, maintenance activities, and technical improvements.
You will work independently or together with a small team, travelling to customer locations for projects that typically last one to five days. Most assignments take place during weekdays, allowing you to spend weekends at home. Your work involves inspecting machines, identifying potential issues before they become failures, and carrying out maintenance activities that keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
You will be the technical point of contact on-site, communicating clearly with customers and colleagues about progress, findings, and recommendations. While your primary region will be the United Kingdom, there are opportunities to support maintenance projects across Europe for those interested in international travel and additional variety.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
