The Role
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day production, equipment maintenance, and manufacturing process improvement.
The successful candidate will program and validate manufacturing equipment, diagnose and repair machinery faults, and develop maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing operations and provide technical support to production.
- Create, validate and maintain programmes for automated and programmable manufacturing equipment.
- Carry out first-level maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis on production equipment.
- Diagnose machine faults, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes for new and existing equipment.
- Support the installation, commissioning, validation, and handover of new manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, uptime, and overall efficiency.
- Establish and improve manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Use root cause analysis to resolve production and assembly issues.
- Create and maintain manufacturing and process documentation.
- Develop process documentation and train personnel on new and existing processes.
- Support high-level technical problem-solving within production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and improvement documentation.
- Manage spare parts requirements and recommend appropriate stock levels.
- Ensure machine safety systems and guarding remain fully functional and compliant.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment, process, and product issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.

Skills & Experience

- Experience in a manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, or similar role.
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Experience developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Experience working within electronics manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement techniques.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
