Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer/Electrician (Multi Skilled).
Full Time Permanent Position
42 hours per week average, working 24/7 shift pattern
Competitive salary
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.

Role Objectives
- Provide first hand maintenance support for machine and appliance breakdown:
- Fault finding within electrical circuits and mechanics of machine tool centres
- Interrogating control systems using engineering drawings & schematics
- Installing and maintaining 3ph power supplies and commissioning of new equipment
- Changing Spindles / drives / auxiliary equipment relating to machine tools
- Provide reactive and planned preventative maintenance support in line with PPM Schedule and NADCAP requirements
- Undertake machine alignment and repair with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drives
- Liaise with maintenance support for stock spares and requisitions
- Complete all supporting paperwork
- Support maintenance team in the delivery of agreed facilities objectives to 6S standards
- Maintain professional development and industry compliance
Essential Responsibilities

- Analyse and resolve work problems, or assist workers to resolve theirs
- Suggest changes in working conditions & use of equipment to increase efficiency of activity

Financial
- Maintain awareness of costs associated with machine downtime
- Communication responsibilities
- Communicate adjustments and changes when they happen
- Work with and support Maintenance Systems Assistant to keep accurate records of activity
Scheduling
- Work to maintenance schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
- Interpret specifications as required and work to SOP’s within Manual Operating Systems
- Work with and support Maintenance Systems Assistant to develop work procedures & SOP’s to meet departmental requirements
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Recommend ways to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance and quality of equipment
People
- Support workers to achieve work goals
- Coach & mentor trainees to ensure skills are passed on
HSE
- Interpret and comply with company HS&E policies and safety regulations
- Identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to eliminate them
- If requested, test the fire and emergency alarm systems for compliance
Position Requirements
Experience
- A relevant time served industry qualification
- Working experience within machine tool maintenance
- Ability to utilise machine controls as part of fault finding process - predominately Siemens 840D
- Knowledge of Siemens 840D controls for machines such as the Henri Line / DST / Handtmann, Droop & Rein and Cincinnati an advantage
- Excellent understanding of machine shop, metal treatments and fabrication processes
- Experience of 5 Axis Milling or similar large complex machines – longbed milling machines
