Nights Maintenance Fitter – Whatley Quarry, Frome
Hours: 42.5 per week (Night Shifts)
Salary: £54,340 + overtime
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Fitter to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to step into the world of quarrying or mechanical engineering. We actively welcome candidates from automotive or agricultural engineering backgrounds who enjoy practical, fast-paced, hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs
- Provide mechanical repair and maintenance skills, including fault identification and analysis.
- Carry out maintenance and repair operations in line with the maintenance plan and budget.
- Improve operational reliability and availability of all fixed plant and machinery.
- Support installation, calibration and adjustment of mechanical components as required.

Planned & Preventative Maintenance
- Deliver planned and preventative maintenance in accordance with site maintenance plans.
- Conduct daily inspections, identify issues and carry out timely rectification of faults.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in line with site and company standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Mechanical fitting in industrial environments
- Automotive mechanics
- Agricultural engineering or farm machinery maintenance
