Maintenance Gardener

Iver, Buckinghamshire | Full Time | You will work 7.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday with a paid lunch break | £27,000 per year

Our client is a successful gardening business that has been trading since August 2001. The business is mainly concerned with the ongoing maintenance of gardens of regular, private customers as well as commercial grounds maintenance which include hotels, business parks, housing associations and commercial premises.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a happy team, that love weeding, mowing and planting out until everything's growing!

Are you the right person for the job?

Preferably you will have relevant experience and/or desirable qualifications in horticulture such as NCH, NDH, HND etc, however, for willing to learn candidates offer full training available for those who want to formally further their knowledge

  • A full driving licence essential with no more than 5 points as you will be required to drive a company van on occasions
  • A CRB check will be required, the cost to be covered by ourselves, as it's a requirement of our membership with Trading Standard's Buy with Confidence Scheme
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

What will your role look like?

  • Weeding, grass and hedge cutting, edging, digging, planting and other grounds maintenance duties as and when required
  • Use small petrol-driven machinery and comply with the company's health and safety policies in this hands-on role
  • Timekeeping – ensuring jobs are carried out on time and to the correct standard
  • Ensure that your team members are conducting themselves properly (i.e. working to correct standards, wearing the correct PPE, not spending time on phone, smoking etc)
  • Liaising with customers
  • Making sure that equipment is safe to use
  • To ensure that jobs are carried out safely
  • Helping other staff with their jobs – answering questions they may have
  • To communicate as much as possible
  • To give the best possible image for the company and to deliver to the best of your ability
