We’re looking for a Maintenance Lead to join us at KP Snacks. If you’re ready to bring your ideas to the table, grow your skills and be part of a team that values what makes you, you – this could be your next big move.
About the role
This is a key leadership role within our production operation, where you'll act as the lead Maintenance Engineer for your production line and play a critical part in driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement. Working as part of a close-knit line leadership team, you'll take ownership of maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support operational performance.
You'll lead preventative and corrective maintenance activities, develop and deliver maintenance plans, and use data and root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability. You'll also coach and support colleagues, champion engineering standards, and work closely with Production, Technical, and Engineering teams to achieve shared goals.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent planning and leadership skills, and who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What will you be doing?
- Leading maintenance planning and execution
- Take ownership of maintenance activities for your production line, ensuring preventative and corrective work is planned, prioritized, and completed effectively
- Driving equipment reliability and performance
- Review line performance, analyze incidents and equipment stops, and implement solutions that improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Managing maintenance schedules and work orders
- Develop weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance plans, ensuring work orders are appropriately prioritized, tracked, and completed
- Championing engineering excellence
- Maintain technical documentation, support compliance with engineering standards, and promote best practice across the operation
- Coaching and collaborating with others
- Work closely with Production, Technical, and Engineering colleagues while supporting the development and capability of the wider maintenance team
We’d love to hear from you if you can bring:
- Strong engineering qualifications and technical expertise
- NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an electrical, electro-mechanical, or mechanical engineering discipline, alongside an 18th Edition qualification.
- Proven maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills gained within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Knowledge of automation and continuous improvement
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- A strong focus on safety and compliance
- Knowledge of COSHH requirements and safe systems of work, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Leadership and coaching capability
- The ability to influence, develop, and support others while taking ownership of performance and results.
