Maintenance Manager

The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Manager will assume responsibility for 40 staff across a large manufacturing facility with nearly 1500 machine assets. Managing the reactive maintenance of 4 sites, this is a vital role within this successful and growing business. If you're a seasoned Maintenance Manager looking for a senior management position, this is a superb opportunity for you.

The Role:

  • You will effectively lead a team of 40 Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technicians and Team Leaders, whilst joining the Management Team of a large engineering business in Exeter.
  • All reactive maintenance will fall under your control so it will be your responsibility to co-ordinate and manage maintenance supervisors and the wider maintenance team of c40 staff to achieve effective preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
  • Continuously develop the Maintenance Team to effectively support the business now and in the future.
  • Improve maintenance efficiency and reduce costs whilst maintaining or improving equipment reliability metrics.
  • Identify end of life equipment and justify replacement using the company capital process.
  • Improve the reliability of plant and equipment whilst reducing equipment generated scrap.
  • Ensure data driven annual appraisals are carried out for department members.
  • Actively and positively promote health and safety tasks, actions and initiatives across the site.
  • Internal Audit 100% compliance (critical EHS categories) to be completed weekly.
  • Manage maintenance metrics both internally and externally to the business.

You will offer:

  • An indentured technician/craft apprenticeship or be degree qualified or qualified by experience.
  • At least 5 years working in a maintenance/engineering department at a managerial or supervisory level.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and capable of making decisions and working in a self-directed capacity.

Working Hours:

  • 7.15am-4.15pm Monday to Friday (but this is a senior management role where you may be required to be on call for emergencies on site).

Associated Benefits:

  • Competitive salary in the region of £65-70000.
  • A range of benefits including company bonus and an excellent pension scheme and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Progression is encouraged, as is professional development.
