Interim Repairs & Maintenance Backlog Resolution Manager / Project Manager

Please Read Carefully This is not A Technology Project Manager Role ***

Repairs and Maintenance

Contract: Initial 3-month interim assignment
Rate: Circa £500 per day via umbrella
Start: Immediate
Location: North / East London
Reporting to: Senior operational lead

We are supporting a public-sector organisation that requires an experienced Repairs & Maintenance professional to take ownership of a substantial backlog of outstanding works orders.

The successful contractor will review hundreds of open jobs, establish whether the information recorded is accurate, close completed or incorrectly recorded jobs, and drive the actions required to resolve those that remain outstanding.

This is a hands-on delivery role requiring someone who can work through detailed information while also challenging internal teams, contractors and suppliers to provide evidence, complete actions and meet firm deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Review a large spreadsheet of outstanding repairs and maintenance jobs.
  • Validate the status and accuracy of each open works order.
  • Liaise with operational staff, contractors and suppliers to establish the true position.
  • Close completed, duplicated or incorrectly recorded jobs.
  • Identify the actions required to progress outstanding jobs to closure.
  • Allocate actions, owners and completion deadlines.
  • Follow up persistently to ensure agreed actions are completed.
  • Challenge incomplete information, poor performance and missed deadlines.
  • Hold internal staff and external contractors to account.
  • Maintain a highly accurate and comprehensive tracking spreadsheet.
  • Produce clear evidence showing that the backlog is controlled and actively managed.
  • Escalate risks, delays and non-compliance where appropriate.
  • Provide regular progress reporting to the senior operational lead.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
