MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Aberdare, South Wales
£45K basic + up to 10% bonus
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and reliability of all adventures, equipment, PPE, and site facilities at a leading adventure tourism site in Aberdare, South Wales.
This is a vital and high-profile hands-on role within the site management team, ensuring the venue is safe, compliant, well maintained, and ready to deliver an exceptional customer experience every day across multiple experiences. You will be working closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager and will be supported by a maintenance technician.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all adventures, structures, equipment, and PPE are safe, compliant, and operational
- Management of inspection regime of all activity structures and equipment
- Manage and deliver preventative maintenance programmes
- Ensure all maintenance, inspection, and safety records are completed accurately
- Manage contractors, third-party inspectors, and specialist suppliers
- Maintain the site to a high standard of safety, presentation, and serviceability
- Manage maintenance budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies
- Support risk assessments, safe systems of work, and statutory compliance
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and maintenance issues to minimise operational disruption
- Lead, develop, and coach the maintenance team
- Work closely with the wider site management team to drive continuous improvement

Requirements
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Proven maintenance, engineering, technical, or facilities management experience
- Experience of and are comfortable working at heights
- Experience leading and working with contractors and managing and in-house team
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge
- Experience of planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance
- A strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- A proactive, practical, and positive 'can do' attitude

Maintenance Management experience within adventure, leisure, attractions, outdoor activities, or another safety-critical environment would be advantageous.
In addition to a basic salary of £45K, there is the potential to earn a bonus of up to 10% of basic salary, holiday entitlement is 25 days. You will be working 5 days out of 7 on a 40-hour contract. You will typically be working a combination of shifts and up to 3 weekends out of 4.
