Maintenance Manager
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a leading manufacturing company based in Grays. This role offers a salary of £75,000-£85,000 per annum, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
As well as a competitive salary, you'll receive 25 days annual leave plus public bank holidays.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the site maintenance function, driving improvements across planning, reliability, PPM compliance, and backlog management. You will work closely with Operations and other site functions to improve plant reliability, performance, and overall site standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and planning teams, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
- Develop personnel through training, cross-training, performance management, and effective job allocation.
- Improve planning, scheduling, PPM compliance, and backlog performance.
- Develop site spares management and Stores processes.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of site Turnarounds.
- Ensure effective use of the CMMS for planning, issuing, and reporting work.
- Ensure technicians are trained and competent in RAMS and safe systems of work.
- Manage third-party contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to required standards.
- Monitor performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Work with Operations and the Site Leadership Team to improve reliability, efficiency, and site standards.

Requirements

- An Engineering Degree or HND qualification.
- Significant experience within a process industry environment such as chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, power generation, energy-from-waste, or paper.
- Strong knowledge of HSE requirements, Permit to Work, and LOTO.
- Experience using CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement.
- IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent safety qualification.
- Awareness of relevant legislation including LOLER, PUWER, COSHH, and PSSR.
