Role Description

The Maintenance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Southampton Area. This role is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, including scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair activities for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. The Maintenance Manager monitors equipment performance, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety, health, and building regulations. Day-to-day tasks include managing maintenance staff, tracking work orders, communicating with hotel leadership, and collaborating with external vendors and contractors when necessary. The role ensures that all systems and facilities are functioning efficiently to support a safe, comfortable, and consistent guest experience.

  • Strong maintenance management capabilities, including experience with Maintenance Management and Maintenance & Repair.
  • Hands-on technical proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for building systems and hotel facilities.
  • Demonstrated Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and building regulations, with the ability to implement and enforce compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, hotel management, and external service providers.
  • Previous experience in hotel, hospitality, or facilities maintenance management is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant technical qualification, trade certification, or vocational training in building services, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
