Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to lead the delivery of maintenance services across the Wembley National Stadium contract at NG Bailey. Working at one of the UK’s most iconic venues, you’ll keep the Stadium safe, compliant and running at its best, from planned preventative maintenance and reactive works through to lifecycle activities and specialist subcontractor services.
This is a high-profile, hands-on leadership role. You’ll guide multi-disciplined engineering and maintenance teams, act as a trusted advisor to the client and make sure contractual obligations and expectations are consistently met. Events are at the heart of life at the Stadium, so you’ll need to be available for events and, at times, work a flexible pattern with TOIL.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Leading by example on NG Bailey’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing standards through safety tours, inspections and incident investigations, so every task is delivered safely.
- Overseeing day-to-day delivery of engineering and fabric maintenance, including PPM and reactive works, to meet contractual requirements, SLAs and response times.
- Owning statutory compliance, from inspections, certifications and remedial works to permits, risk assessments and safe systems of work, and supporting internal and external audits.
- Driving operational readiness for event and non-event activity across the Stadium estate, and developing maintenance plans that maximise asset reliability and resilience.
- Leading, coaching and developing your teams through one-to-ones, performance reviews and talent and succession planning.
- Building strong relationships with client stakeholders, representing NG Bailey at review meetings and providing clear performance reporting and advice on asset performance and risk.
- Managing specialist subcontractors, reviewing quotations for value for money and identifying efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
- Using MRI and other maintenance management systems to analyse performance data, support condition surveys and lifecycle planning, and spot trends and opportunities for improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
