Are you the kind of person who spots a problem and fixes it before anyone else notices? Do you enjoy variety in your day and take pride in keeping everything running smoothly? We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to help keep The Dukes Head Hotel, part of Surya Hotels, looking its best and operating seamlessly. From guest bedrooms and public areas to essential compliance checks and site maintenance, you'll play a key role in ensuring our historic hotel continues to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest.
This is not a desk-based role. You'll be out and about, rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in. A loose door handle? Sorted. A wall needing a fresh touch of paint? You're already reaching for the paintbrush. Lighting issue? You're on it. Boiler concern? You're investigating before anyone has time to worry - no two days will be the same!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
