We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take ownership of and grow our Solar Maintenance operation across the UK.
This is a varied, hands-on leadership role combining people management, customer experience, operational delivery, and commercial growth across our domestic and commercial solar customers.
You’ll lead a team of Maintenance Engineers and office support colleagues, ensuring we deliver an exceptional service while continually looking for ways to improve performance, develop our offering, and grow recurring maintenance revenue.
The right person will be organised, commercially minded, and a natural people leader, with the confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and build strong relationships with customers, engineers, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead, support, develop, and coach our Maintenance Engineers and office support team, creating a positive, high-performing, and accountable culture.
- Day-to-day management: Take ownership of the daily delivery of solar maintenance, repairs, and servicing, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Customer experience: Deliver a best-in-class experience for both domestic and commercial customers, managing enquiries, escalations, and ongoing issues through to resolution.
- Planning & scheduling: Ensure jobs are planned, allocated, and completed efficiently, making the best use of engineer capacity and resources.
- Performance improvement: Drive engineer performance, utilisation, and customer service, using data and insight to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Relationship building: Build strong, lasting relationships with existing customers, encouraging repeat business, referrals, and new opportunities.
- Commercial growth: Identify opportunities to grow our maintenance and servicing offering, including recurring revenue and service contracts.
- Data-led management: Monitor and manage key operational KPIs, costs, revenue, productivity, and customer performance to support informed decision-making.
- Continuous improvement: Challenge the way we work and continually look for smarter, more efficient ways to improve our maintenance operation and customer journey.
- Forward thinking: Help shape the future of our Solar Maintenance proposition, identifying opportunities to develop and scale the service as the business grows.

What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded people leader with experience in solar, renewables, electrical services, field service, or maintenance operations.
You’ll be comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, balancing the needs of customers, engineers, and the wider business. You’ll be organised, solutions-focused, and confident using data to drive performance and make decisions. You’ll also have a genuine passion for developing people and creating a team environment where engineers can perform at their best.
Experience in Solar PV and Battery Storage would be an advantage, alongside a strong understanding of customer service, operational delivery, and health & safety.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of an established maintenance operation while helping us shape and grow the next stage of our solar maintenance offering.

Essentials:
- Experience within solar, renewables, electrical services, engineering, maintenance, facilities, or a similar technical environment.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements within a field-based or engineering environment.
- Ability to understand technical issues and communicate effectively with engineers and customers.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure work is planned and delivered effectively.
- Proven experience managing customer issues, escalations, and service delivery.
- A strong commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience.

Desirables:
- Experience managing a UK-wide or geographically dispersed engineering/maintenance team.
- Experience developing or growing a maintenance, servicing, or recurring-revenue proposition.
- Experience implementing new processes, systems, or ways of working to improve operational performance.
- Experience within a fast-growing or scale-up environment.
Your base of Operations: Office, warehouse, and beyond
Our head office is in Chippenham, Wiltshire, with additional offices and warehouses in Lincoln, Ringwood (Hampshire), and Kent. For this role, we’re looking for candidates based in the Ringwood (Hampshire) area. The position will involve some travel, including occasional overnight stays.
Our working hours are 40 a week, Monday - Friday.
