NEW JOB VACANCY IN NORTH WALES: MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead, Engineering Lead or Engineering Manager looking for a new job in North Wales and are you looking for either a contract or permanent job?
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a long-standing manufacturing business in Wrexham, this is a day shift position Monday to Friday, and the role comes with an annual salary up to A GBP 65k (DOE).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who has at least 5+ years within a similar Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager role, and has either completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or an NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Due to the nature of the business, we are looking for someone who has come from a heavy engineering / manufacturing background.
This will be at least a 2-stage interview process, with the first stage being a Teams call.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage all maintenance activities for the end-to-end manufacturing process, ensuring equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and predictive maintenance strategy across all process areas.
- Manage maintenance KPIs including uptime, downtime, MTBF, MTTR and support continuous improvement to enhance OEE.
- Ensure maintenance compliance with safety and quality standards, including PUWER, LOLER, permit-to-work, isolation, and LOTO.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and drive actions that reduce repeat breakdowns.
- Support CAPEX projects, equipment installation, commissioning, and handover, working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality.

What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Manager or Senior Maintenance Engineer in a heavy manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
- An apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3+ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge, with the ability to work in a multi-skilled maintenance environment.
- Demonstrable experience implementing and managing PPM systems, with a data-driven approach to reliability.
- Confidence working in safety-critical, high-temperature industrial settings.
Desirable
- CNC machinery maintenance exposure.
- Experience improving OEE and reliability metrics.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Experience supporting multi-site or group-level operations.
- An IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification
