Maintenance Mechanic - Winfrith Site

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our Winfrith site running safely and efficiently. You'll work on a wide range of plant, equipment and facilities, carrying out planned maintenance, repairs, fault finding and breakdown response in a unique industrial environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys solving problems, working as part of a skilled team, and taking pride in keeping equipment operating safely and reliably.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on site plant and equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose faults and support investigations into plant and equipment issues.
  • Complete installation, testing and commissioning work within your level of competence.
  • Perform general mechanical maintenance activities across the site.
  • Monitor equipment condition and use your technical judgement to identify potential issues.
  • Produce accurate maintenance records and job reports.
  • Support contractors working on site and help ensure work is completed safely.
  • Provide technical input to maintenance improvements and future projects.

Safety Comes First

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. You'll be expected to:

  • Follow safe systems of work and site procedures at all times.
  • Identify and report safety, environmental and security risks.
  • Apply STAR (Stop, Think, Act, Review) principles during all work activities.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
  • Keep your training, qualifications and authorisations up to date.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
