Are you an experienced Maintenance Operative with practical handyman and general maintenance skills? We’re recruiting for two Maintenance Operatives to join a Facilities Management team maintaining a portfolio of sites across East and North-East London.

This permanent role offers plenty of variety, great working hours and ongoing training. Formal qualifications aren’t essential – practical maintenance experience and a positive, can-do attitude are what matter most.
The Role
As a Maintenance Operative, You Will
- Carry out general maintenance, handyman tasks and minor repairs.
- Complete painting, decorating and basic carpentry.
- Undertake basic plumbing and electrical maintenance.
- Complete emergency lighting, fire alarm and basic building checks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and ad-hoc repairs.
- Work alongside the Lead Engineer and wider maintenance team.

About You
To be successful as a Maintenance Operative, you’ll have:
- Experience within maintenance, handyman, caretaking or Facilities Management.
- Good practical skills across general building maintenance and repairs.
- Basic plumbing, carpentry or electrical knowledge.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A reliable, flexible and proactive approach.
No formal trade qualification is required – practical experience is more important.

- £28,000 salary
- Permanent, full-time position
- 38-hour working week
- Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-4:00pm
- Friday, 7:30am-2:00pm
