About our Home

Lansdowne Care Home provides support for people living with a range of differing health needs, offering residential, nursing, and dementia care on a long-term or short-term and respite basis.

Our home benefits from a bright and sunny landscaped garden, where residents can take the opportunity for exploring, relaxing, and participating in gardening activities when the weather allows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the building and equipment
  • Conducting routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe – e.g., Loler testing
  • Monitoring and responding to the fire alarm call, boilers, and lift
  • Making effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair
  • Conducting banking and purchase of small items for the home
  • Maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors to the House including decoration and repair, minor plumbing works, and maintaining the garden areas
  • Maintaining good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues at the House
  • Maintaining awareness of the Home’s policies and procedures, especially the Fire Policy
  • Participating in training and development as an individual and as part of the team
  • Getting involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures
  • Maintaining client and business confidentiality at all times
  • Controlling and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries
  • Maintaining an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements
  • Observing and maintaining high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues, and residents
  • Maintaining client and business confidentiality at all times
  • Carrying out any additional duties as requested
  • Undertaking any additional training and development programs the Home may consider appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home
  • Reviewing on a regular basis the job description for your post and to agree on any changes
