Salary: £28,500 plus performance related annual bonus and generous benefits (please see below).
Contract: Permanent, full time, 42.5 hours per week
Required Days of Work: Monday - Friday
Working Hours: Between 9am – 6pm

Vita Student’s Maintenance Operative
Our Maintenance Operative plays an important role in maintaining Vita Student's premium residences, ensuring buildings remain safe, welcoming and operating to the highest standard. Working across a variety of maintenance tasks, the role supports the delivery of the exceptional living experience that residents expect from an industry-leading student accommodation provider.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
- Carry out routine building inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
- Undertake general repairs, including plumbing, fixtures, doors and minor building fabric repairs.
- Complete basic flooring, furniture, painting and decorating repairs.
- Maintain external grounds, including grass cutting, hedge trimming and general upkeep.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, policies and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and five-star environment for residents and visitors.
Who We’re Looking For
A skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative with experience maintaining safe, compliant and well-presented buildings. The ideal candidate will have a broad maintenance background, a strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and experience working with fire safety systems. This individual will take pride in maintaining high standards and helping to deliver an exceptional living experience within a premium student accommodation environment.

- Experience carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on fire alarm and firefighting systems.
- Strong practical knowledge across a range of building maintenance disciplines.
- Experience delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) within residential, hospitality, facilities management or student accommodation environments.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance standards and safe working practices.
- Confident using maintenance software, work order systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in a customer-facing environment, delivering responsive and professional service.

The role is particularly suited to candidates with experience as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative, Facilities Maintenance Technician, Property Maintenance Technician, Caretaker or Building Maintenance Engineer, looking to join an industry-leading provider of premium student accommodation.
