Maintenance Operative
This stunning four-star hotel is centrally located within Hull, on Ferensway, minutes from the train station and St Stephens Shopping Centre. The hotel is opposite the Hull Truck Theatre and is a short stroll to the bustling downtown and marina area. This contemporary-style hotel offers a stylish stay for corporate guests and also accommodates leisure guests and family stays with its spacious and relaxing environment.
The hotel boasts 165 bedrooms and a 1,000sqm ballroom for events and conferences. There is a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill offering hearty meals and a pleasurable atmosphere. Guests will enjoy relaxing with food and drinks in our lounge bar or may choose to visit our rooftop bar The Lexington for panoramic views of Hull and a handmade cocktail on the terrace.
Join Our Team
We're looking for a practical and proactive Maintenance Operative to help keep our hotel safe, well-maintained and welcoming for our guests and team members.
This is a hands-on role where you'll support the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel, carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep across the property.

What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across the hotel
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with the upkeep and presentation of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces
- Support the Maintenance Lead and Property Manager in maintaining a safe and compliant environment
- Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance issues
- Carry out minor repairs, decorating and general maintenance tasks
- Assist contractors and suppliers when required
- Maintain maintenance records and complete documentation accurately
- Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are kept safe and organised
- Help create a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for guests and team members
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, property or trade-related role is desirable
- Good practical skills and knowledge of general building maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Understanding of health and safety requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive and professional approach to work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and willing to support the wider hotel operation when required
