Position Type: Full-time / Permanent
Reports To: Operations Manager
The Role
As our sole Maintenance Operative, you will take complete ownership of the day-to-day upkeep at Hub26. You will ensure our premium facilities remain functional, safe, clean, and welcoming. This is a varied, hands-on role where your proactive approach directly impacts our community's experience.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- General Upkeep: Carrying out day-to-day general repairs, minor carpentry, basic plumbing, and routine building maintenance tasks across the site.
- Safety & Compliance: Performing daily, weekly, and monthly facility checks (including fire safety systems, emergency lighting, and water testing) in line with health and safety standards.
- Proactive Maintenance: Assisting with planned preventative maintenance schedules to preserve the high quality of our building and assets.
- Refurbishment & Aesthetics: Handling minor painting, decorating, and touch-up work to ensure our modern workspaces always look pristine.
- Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring outdoor communal spaces, entryways, and pathways are clean, tidy, and safe year-round, including basic gardening.
- Contractor Support: Greeting, guiding, and liaising with external specialist engineers and suppliers when major works are required.
- Responsive Service: Replying promptly and courteously to maintenance requests from our members to minimise any disruption to their workday.
- Record Keeping: Logging completed tasks and safety checks accurately using our internal maintenance systems.

About You
We are looking for a dependable, organized individual who takes genuine pride in running a site smoothly and enjoys creating great spaces for others. If you have a practical mindset and enjoy interacting with a diverse community, you will fit right in.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Practical Experience: A background in property maintenance, facilities upkeep, general building trades, or a similar hands-on role.
- Technical Skills: Competence across a wide range of DIY, building repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of—or a strong willingness to learn—Health & Safety, COSHH regulations, and building compliance.
- Organisation Skills: The ability to manage a varied task list, prioritise urgent repair requests, and use your own initiative.
- An Inclusive Mindset: A friendly, patient, and respectful approach when working around our diverse community of members, guests, and colleagues.
- Independence: The ability to work completely independently with minimal supervision to manage the building effectively.
