Are you a skilled and reliable maintenance professional with experience in the hospitality industry? Do you enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in creating safe, welcoming environments for guests?
Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our small, friendly and dedicated maintenance team.
Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, you will help ensure our luxury hotel, spa, championship golf course and resort facilities are maintained to the highest standards, delivering an exceptional experience for every guest who visits.
If you are looking for a varied role where no two days are the same, we would love to hear from you.
About The Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you will support the day-to-day maintenance, servicing and repair of the hotel's buildings, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings, helping to ensure the resort remains safe, compliant and presented to the highest standard.
From guest bedrooms and public areas to the spa, golf facilities and back-of-house operations, you will play an important role in keeping every part of the resort running smoothly.
This role requires flexibility to work weekends on a rota basis and participate in an on-call rota, providing management cover in the absence of the Manager to ensure the smooth and safe running of the service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
