We’re currently looking for an Maintenance Operative to join the team at The Lawns in Darlington. If you’re someone who naturally brings warmth, energy, and creativity wherever you go, and you love the idea of making each day meaningful for our residents, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:
- Reporting and actioning any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment, and any other potential hazards to the Home Manager.
- Ensuring the maintenance of the Home’s exterior, including:
- Keeping any sheds, outbuildings, and areas in which waste is stored in a clean and tidy condition.
- Clearing snow and grit the drive, paths, and any areas to which Residents, Visitors, or Staff Members have access.
- Litter picking, cutting the grass around the building, and tending to any flowerbeds, hanging baskets, etc.
- Cleaning all signs/lighting outside the Home.
- Carrying out any touching up or making good of decoration as and when required to maintain our high standards.
- Completing weekly Pre-planned maintenances such as statutory compliance checks, testing of the fire alarm system, and logging results weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices, and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
- Completing and accurately recording all Planned maintenance as required. (Please see PPM list).
- Ensuring all ventilation units and lights are kept clean. Replace any defective light bulbs/diffusers.
- Testing all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures. (If trained and competent).
- Testing, and recording, water temperatures, cleaning and chlorinating shower heads as specified in Company procedures.
- Maintaining the homes “Maintenance Book” in which defects are logged and PPMs are recorded. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily. If unable to complete the task, please log with Helpdesk.
- Assisting/supervising with deliveries to the Home. Monitor and sign off deliveries.
- Assisting Contractors onsite.
