Job Advert: Maintenance Operative
Location: Lancaster
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Contract Type: 3 weeks
Are you a hands-on individual with a knack for fixing things? Do you enjoy making a difference in a community environment? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Maintenance Operative at our student halls in Lancaster!
About The Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our student accommodation. Your responsibilities will include:
- General maintenance tasks such as unblocking sinks and replacing light bulbs.
- Assisting with routine fire alarm testing to ensure safety compliance.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from residents to enhance their living experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular checks on facilities and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment by supporting fire alarm testing.
- Keep maintenance records up to date.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with students and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to maintenance work.
