The Opportunity

Arden White Aviation & Aerospace Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join a world-leading helicopter manufacturer at its RAF Shawbury, Shropshire operation.

The site supports the UK's Military Flying Training System (MFTS), providing helicopters and maintenance support to the UK's No.1 Flying Training School.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated military aviation environment, supporting the planning and delivery of helicopter maintenance across a complex operational fleet.

The Role

As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for managing maintenance and materials planning requirements and producing and reviewing line and base maintenance work packs.

Working closely with Maintenance, CAMO, Airworthiness, Customer Support, and Materials teams, you will ensure maintenance is effectively planned, required materials and documentation are available, and aircraft downtime is minimized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan scheduled maintenance requirements for allocated aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance programmes.
  • Produce and review line and base maintenance work packs.
  • Monitor aircraft utilisation and maintenance status and identify upcoming maintenance requirements.
  • Establish provisional maintenance dates based on projected aircraft utilisation.
  • Review material requirements and raise reservations and purchase requisitions as required.
  • Liaise with Maintenance and Customer Support teams to confirm maintenance dates.
  • Coordinate with Airworthiness regarding ADs, SBs, EOs, and other airworthiness requirements.
  • Review maintenance inputs and work packs to minimise aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure planned maintenance has been completed prior to aircraft departure from base maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and update the relevant maintenance information systems.
  • Produce short-term maintenance forecasts for allocated aircraft.
  • Support the wider CAMO team and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance planning processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
