Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician with a background in plumbing and mechanical maintenance? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a dedicated maintenance team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across residential accommodation. This is a varied role with a plumbing and mechanical bias, although you'll also be involved in general building maintenance and supporting the wider maintenance team when required.

Duties
- Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health & Safety risks before work commences and reporting any hazards to the relevant Manager.
- Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with Service Level Agreements, providing first-line response for plumbing and mechanical repairs.
- Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs and statutory compliance documentation.
- Liaise with specialist subcontractors when required.
- Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and other compliance checks.
- Support the wider maintenance team with general PPM and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Report Health & Safety concerns promptly, ensuring all relevant information is communicated appropriately.
- Assist at different sites when required and work additional hours, with notice, during peak student arrival and departure periods.

What you'll need
Essential
- Previous experience working in a plumbing and maintenance environment.
- Good knowledge of plumbing and mechanical building services.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
- Understanding of building services systems and safe working practices.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and the ability to work safely at all times.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible approach with the willingness to support colleagues and work across different sites when required.
