Role Description
The Maintenance Plumber role is a full-time, on-site position located in Durham. The Maintenance Plumber will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, valves, and drainage systems in residential and commercial properties. Daily tasks include diagnosing plumbing issues, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to urgent repair requests, and ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, coordinating with other trades on construction and maintenance projects, and maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used. The Maintenance Plumber will also interact with clients on-site, provide clear explanations of work, and help ensure a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

- Strong skills and experience in plumbing installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency working with a variety of pipe systems, fittings, and related materials.
- Experience in maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance for building systems.
- Ability to provide effective customer service, including clear communication and professional on-site conduct.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in plumbing; certification or license as a plumber is highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for plumbing work.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple work orders.
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Durham work sites.
