About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our Leyland production site.
This role provides safe, effective and right-first-time maintenance support across the Leyland site. You will respond quickly to equipment failures, complete planned and preventative maintenance, and support the department’s move from reactive maintenance towards a proactive, reliable and data-driven asset-care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to breakdowns safely and effectively, restoring equipment quickly and supporting professional equipment hand back.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to a high standard, helping to prevent repeat failures and improve machine reliability.
- Record accurate work-order history using the CMMS system, ensuring maintenance data is clear, complete and useful.
- Work closely with colleagues across Production, Engineering and other departments while maintaining high standards in safety, food safety, quality and workmanship.

About You
- Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical and/or Mechanical Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years’ post-apprenticeship maintenance experience, ideally within food manufacturing or an FMCG environment.
- A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving, with good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.
- A positive, flexible and self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and a detail-conscious approach.
Location
The role will be based from our Leyland production site, with free on-site parking. You may be required to travel to our Leeds Head Office and other external locations to meet business requirements.
