About MotionTech
MotionTech designs, installs and maintains conveyor, robotics, and automated storage systems for logistics, food and beverage, and retail sites across the UK. Founded in 1997 and now more than 150 people strong, they support equipment through its full lifecycle, from installation through to day-to-day maintenance. This role is based at a major new client site in Hemel Hempstead.
The role
You'll report to MotionTech's Customer Account Manager, leading the maintenance team responsible for keeping the client's automation running to the daily operational plan. It's a hands-on role: you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance alongside your team, while driving improvement projects and building the team's skills.
What you'll do
You'll:
- Keep the automation delivering the daily operational plan
- Lead the planned preventative maintenance programme using the Computerised Maintenance System
- Oversee reactive maintenance, keeping downtime to a minimum
- Identify and deliver improvement projects to boost throughput and capacity
- Build clear, regular reporting and work closely with the client
- Cover shift rotas and develop the team's skills and competencies
- Maintain good housekeeping across all automated areas
- Carry out hands-on planned and reactive work alongside the team

What you'll bring
Essential:
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering, with an electrical bias preferred
- Proven, hands-on experience in engineering and maintenance, both electrical and mechanical
- Proven experience leading or supervising a maintenance team
Useful, not essential:
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Background working in a warehouse, distribution, or automated manufacturing environment
- Experience delivering improvement projects that cut downtime or increased throughput

Working arrangements
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Site-based, fully on-site.
Contract: Permanent. Full-time.
Hours: Days, Monday to Friday.
