Interim Maintenance Engineering Supervisor

3-Month Contract £400 per day Outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineering Supervisor to join a busy heavy manufacturing operation on an initial 3-month interim contract.

This is a hands-on, on-the-tools supervisory position. You will lead the maintenance team while remaining actively involved in fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance and day-to-day engineering activities across the site.

The Role

Working within a demanding heavy manufacturing environment, you will supervise the maintenance team and play a key role in keeping plant and machinery operating safely and efficiently.

You will be expected to be comfortable getting hands-on with the tools and leading by example.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervising and supporting a team of maintenance engineers/technicians.
  • Carrying out hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults and breakdowns.
  • Coordinating planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Prioritising engineering work to minimise production downtime.
  • Working closely with Production to maintain plant availability.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the maintenance team.
  • Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Managing day-to-day engineering priorities and allocating work across the team.
  • Ensuring relevant maintenance records and systems are maintained.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
