The Opportunity

Are you a skilled engineering professional looking to play a pivotal role in a company that shapes the world around us? Holcim, a leading supplier of traditional and sustainable construction materials, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our dedicated team in the UK.

This is an exciting, permanent, on-site opportunity where your expertise will directly impact our operational success. You will be central to keeping our production running smoothly, ensuring our plant operates at its optimal capacity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. As our Maintenance Supervisor, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance, servicing, and repair of site production machinery.
  • Responding promptly to unplanned repairs and plant breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Inducting and managing external contractors engaged in maintenance activities across the site.
  • Collaborating with the supervisory team to champion a safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment.
  • Contributing to safe working methods, issuing risk assessments, permits to work, and contractor clearance forms.
  • Utilising the Jotform reporting system on a daily basis to track and manage maintenance tasks.

Who you are

  • You are an experienced maintenance professional with a sound knowledge of engineering services and a background in the engineering maintenance industry.
  • You possess excellent communication and team-working skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively within a supervisory team and organise a multi-skilled workforce.
  • You have a strong understanding of health and safety, with experience in safe working practices, permits to work, and 'live working' procedures. Holding a Level 3 NVQ in Plant Maintenance and a NEBOSH (or equivalent) qualification is highly valued.
  • You are highly motivated and adaptable, bringing enthusiasm to your work, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to find creative solutions to unexpected technical problems.
  • You possess good digital skills, with the IT literacy required to manage administrative duties and work comfortably to deadlines.
  • You are flexible and accountable, ready to take responsibility for maintenance operations and available to work unsociable hours upon request to support the team.
