Maintenance Team Leader

Salary: £53,000 with shift allowance
Shifts: Double Days (rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)
Overtime: 1.5x Mon–Sat | 2x Sun & Bank Holidays
Holidays: 22 days + 8 Bank Holidays, increasing with service
Benefits: 9% pension package | Life assurance - 4x annual salary | $3000 Annual tuition assistance

Role details

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Team Leader to support and coordinate a team of multi-skilled engineers across a busy operation. The successful candidate will split their time between supporting the team, coordinating maintenance activities, and remaining involved in practical engineering tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a team of engineers.
  • Organising maintenance activities and prioritising workloads.
  • Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Supporting fault finding and breakdown investigations.
  • Monitoring team performance and standards.
  • Liaising with operational teams to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and engineering projects.

Requirements

The business is very open to candidates from a wide range of engineering backgrounds and industries. They are interested in engineers who have some leadership exposure through mentoring, coordinating work, supporting apprentices, or deputising for management.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC, etc.)
  • Experience carrying out maintenance and fault finding within an engineering environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to motivate and support others.
  • Experience coordinating workloads, projects, or people, either formally or informally.
  • A proactive approach and a desire to progress your leadership career.
