Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Maintenance Manager responsible for safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of the newly built 8.74M. The plant is encompassing fuel hall including craneage, Steam Turbine, Steam Boiler, flue gas treatment, water production, power unit and ancillary plant used to support the burning of RDF for the production of power.
Performing Maintenance functions associated with all main and auxiliary plant at the RDF Power Plant in Baddesley to enable it to meet generation and availability targets safely and efficiently whilst adhering to strict environmental permit compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance of large steam boiler plant, Maintenance Management Systems, Generation, Flue Gas Treatment, SSOW, CEMS equipment and all other associated auxiliary systems
- Carrying out Planned Preventative & Reactive Maintenance on a range of mechanical, electrical and C&I equipment including but not limited to motors, valves, rotating plant, pumps, switch gear, variable speed drives, instrumentation and conveyor systems
- Planning PPM Schedules and reviewing plant defects when required
- Identification of essential maintenance spares and stock control of held spares
- Planning and carrying out improvement projects
- Supervision of sub-contractors and close working with them particularly at times of scheduled maintenance and inspection activities
- Provide knowledge and leadership among the O&M assistants for maintenance related tasks
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with creating and initial set up of the CMMS system
- Accurately record maintenance using a CMMS and assist to schedule future maintenance activities
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on an extensive range of Electrical/ Mechanical equipment
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis and play an active role in investigating recurring faults and engineering solutions
- Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by the plant management
