📌 Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias)

📍 Pontyclun

💰 Circa £55,000 including shift allowance, plus overtime and benefits

Yolk Recruitment is exclusively representing a leading UK manufacturer looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Technician to join its established engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking manufacturing environment that continues to invest in automation, technology, and plant reliability. You will work across a three-shift pattern and play a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

  • Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across production machinery and the wider facility
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
  • Diagnose and repair faults involving PLC systems, CNC machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Use your electrical maintenance knowledge to identify faults and deliver effective, lasting repairs
  • Support engineering improvement projects and the introduction of new technology
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering colleagues to maintain plant reliability
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

What You'll Bring:

  • At least 10 years' experience in a Maintenance Technician or similar engineering position
  • A strong electrical maintenance background
  • Experience working with PLC and CNC systems, although additional training can be provided where required
  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • An HNC or equivalent higher-level engineering qualification would be advantageous
  • Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to fault finding and problem-solving
  • Confidence making decisions while responding to engineering issues
  • An interest in developing your skills and progressing over the long term

You will receive a salary of circa £55,000, including shift allowance, alongside a valuable overtime and benefits package.

  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times the standard rate on Saturdays
  • Overtime paid at double the standard rate on Sundays
