Maintenance Technician – Domestic Annexe Installations

Spider is advertising on behalf of Garden Annexes by GX Modular, who, due to overall company growth are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician – Domestic Annexe Installations Nationwide to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position based from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, with nationwide travel to domestic customer properties and an immediate start available.

About the role:

As the face of the maintenance team, you will visit existing annexe clients to assess and resolve snagging issues and faults across their properties. This is a hands-on, multi-trade role where you will use your 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills, alongside smaller remedial plumbing and electrical tasks. You will travel to domestic customer homes, fault-find and complete remedial work across annexe interiors, including kitchens, bathrooms, doors, panels and other fixtures.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional overnight stays outside East Anglia (approximately once a month). This is steady, long-term employment directly with the company – not agency or short-term contract work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visit and maintain existing domestic annexes, using your multi-trade skills, particularly 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Assess faults, identify solutions and complete remedial and snagging works to a high standard
  • Carry out tasks including door adjustments, kitchen fitting, panel replacement and other general maintenance repairs
  • Undertake simple remedial plumbing and electrical tasks where required
  • Ensure all work is completed neatly, tidily and to a high-quality finish, with elementary decorating skills an advantage
  • Represent Garden Annexes by GX Modular professionally and courteously when working at customer properties

About you:

To be a successful Maintenance Technician you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-trade maintenance, with strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills and ideally some experience with basic plumbing and electrical repairs. Experience working within domestic residential environments is essential, together with a high-quality and well-paced work ethic.

You will be a practical and confident problem solver with excellent attention to detail, strong finishing skills and a professional, customer-focused approach. The ability to self-manage and work independently, while also contributing positively as part of a team, is important. A full UK driving licence is essential for this nationwide role.
