Are you experienced in property, electrical, engineering, plumbing, or grounds maintenance? Do you have an interest in pool maintenance? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
At Rainbows Children's Hospice, we provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care to more than 750 babies, children and young people with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, as well as support for around 3,000 family members, siblings and carers across the East Midlands. Put simply, we're here to brighten short lives and support families when they need us most.
We're looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated Estates & Facilities team. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a vital part in ensuring our hospice and grounds remain safe, welcoming and maintained to the highest standards for the children, young people and families who use our services.
Location
Rainbows Hospice, Lark Rise, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 2HS
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Flexibility is required as part of a shared rota providing emergency out-of-hours support.

- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the hospice site.
- Delivering a professional maintenance service across buildings, grounds and surrounding areas using our maintenance management system, Fiix.
- Identifying and resolving maintenance and facilities issues in a proactive and timely manner.
- Participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
- Supervising contractors, volunteers and grounds maintenance staff when required.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with health and safety legislation and Rainbows policies.

We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in general maintenance and repair, including property, plant, electrical, engineering, plumbing or grounds maintenance.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and relevant regulations.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to managing workloads and priorities.
- Experience of working with and overseeing contractors.
- The ability to manage competing demands and work independently.
Desirable Requirements
It would be advantageous if you have:
- A Pool Plant Operative qualification or experience maintaining swimming pools.
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
- A PAT Testing qualification, or a willingness to undertake training.
- Basic painting and decorating skills.
