Role Description

The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Edinburgh. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on hotel facilities, guest rooms, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable environment.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Responding to maintenance requests
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
  • Completing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Coordinating with external contractors when needed

The Maintenance Technician will also assist with:

  • Monitoring building systems
  • Adhering to health and safety standards
  • Documenting work performed
  • Supporting other departments to minimize disruption to guests

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for building systems and hotel facilities.
  • Experience with Troubleshooting and Industrial Maintenance to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; relevant certifications are an advantage.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with hotel staff and external vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and the capacity to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, commercial, or facilities maintenance environment is preferred.
