Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

📍 Cardiff

💰 Up to £53,000 (including shift allowance) + Annual Bonus

What You'll Do:

Join a well-established manufacturing business that continues to invest in its people, facilities and future growth. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates reliably and efficiently, helping to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on plant and production machinery
  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
  • Servicing, inspecting and maintaining manufacturing equipment
  • Assisting with machinery upgrades and engineering projects
  • Conducting weekly fire alarm system testing
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the engineering department
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and standards

What You'll Bring:

  • Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience with strong electrical knowledge and basic mechanical skills
  • An engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, ONC, HNC or HND
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques
  • A flexible approach to shifts and working hours
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude

  • CNC machinery
  • Lathes
  • Milling machines
  • Grinders
  • Other manufacturing plant equipment
