We are looking for a versatile and proactive Maintenance Technician to join the Kiddie Capers Childcare team on a permanent basis.
This hands-on role will provide maintenance support across all Kiddie Capers sites, helping to ensure our nurseries and facilities remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments for children, families, and colleagues.
The successful candidate will be a practical all-rounder with experience in a wide range of maintenance tasks, capable of working independently and managing priorities across multiple locations.
Tools and appropriate PPE will be provided.
This role does not come with a company vehicle until you have passed probation. You must be willing to use your own vehicle whilst in probation.
Hours & Pay:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- £32,000 per annum

Responsibilities:
- Experience in all areas of general maintenance, both indoors and outdoors including electrical, woodwork, kitchens installations, cold water plumbing and drainage, painting and decorating, gardening (mainly cutting lawns and keeping control of vegetation)
- Strong sense of health and safety and keeping yourself and everyone around you safe
- An experienced self-starter who can work efficiently as an individual, always demonstrating initiative
- Complete a wide range of general maintenance tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, and minor repairs for the set up of a new nursery
- Maintain outdoor areas, including lawn cutting, vegetation control and general grounds maintenance
- Identify maintenance issues, diagnose problems and carry out effective repairs in a timely manner
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety requirements
- Use tools, equipment and company vehicles responsibly and report any defects
- Work independently, managing your own workload and prioritising tasks effectively
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach when working
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe at all times
- Report completed works, issues or further repair requirements to management
