What does a Maintenance Technician do?
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. Working with advanced production equipment, you'll use your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with cutting-edge technology, and making a visible impact on operational performance. You'll collaborate with colleagues across the site, support the development of apprentices and junior technicians, and help ensure we consistently deliver quality products to our customers.
Why do we need you?
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues across manufacturing equipment.
- Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Investigate root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Use maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document activities, track equipment history, and support maintenance planning.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and less experienced technicians when required.
- Leverage predictive maintenance technologies and data to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship and/or technical qualification in Engineering, ideally with an electrical focus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize workloads, work independently, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred:
- Experience within blown film extrusion, printing, converting, or similar manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support training and business needs.
