About the Role
Imperial College London is a world Top 10 university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The Maintenance Team forms a vital part of the Property Division who help manage one of the largest built estates in the University sector. The department delivers a comprehensive range of services to an academic community who are world leaders in the provision of Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Research and Teaching.
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician for Imperial, you will work as part of a team providing electrically biased support to our Academic, Research, Teaching and Administrative functions. Our Maintenance Team carry out Reactive and PPM works to assets, project support and infrastructure to ensure all Imperial activities is carried out.

What You Would Be Doing
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance and repairs to electrical equipment and all associated systems.
- Undertake a proactive approach in ensuring all plant and equipment is fully operational and fit for purpose.
- Undertake appropriate administrative tasks by fulfilling the work report on CAFM system Planon.
- Maintain safe workplace practice and procedures in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety Legislation.
- Undertake other duties which may arise commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by line manager/supervisor.
What We Are Looking For
- Gained a recognised apprenticeship and attained an appropriate NVQ level 3 in Electrical discipline with knowledge of hot water systems, pumps, compressed air systems, chillers, AHU’s etc.
- Have a proven ability to work within a busy multi-tasking team with a flexible approach to daily work and a proactive approach to resolving problems.
- Excellent communication and customer care skills.
- Understanding of Health & Safety preferably IOSH trained.
- Be computer literate and able to use MS Office products such as Word, Teams, Outlook for e-mail, and calendar appointments.
- Knowledge of Planon would be an advantage and use of tablet.

Further Information
The working hours are 35 hours per week, on a 7-day rotating shift pattern South / North Teams at South Kensington Campus. We are looking for an immediate start.
