Role Overview and Responsibilities

At TT Electronics, Bedlington, we're hiring for a Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias to contribute towards achieving our goals and objectives by improving the efficiency of production equipment across the site. As part of a team of Technicians, you'll engage in Proactive Planned TPM tasks and reactive breakdown solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Conducting routine inspection, and scheduled calibrations and planned downtime servicing of machinery, plant systems, equipment, and tools to prevent breakdowns.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Addressing machine failures to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical/electronics, and pneumatic systems.
  • CMM: Work with the engineering team to develop calibration, monitoring, and maintenance plans including inventory, owning, and executing the plan.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to and advocating safety protocols ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining accurate logs, maintenance work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure good record keeping of maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
  • Supplier Management: Supervising and coordinating with outside suppliers and contractors for servicing, major repairs, and specialized projects.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

Skills, qualifications, and behaviors required:

  • An understanding of mechanical engineering electrical/electronic systems and pneumatics as well as knowledge and experience in TPM.
  • Skilled in using and maintaining hand power tools and diagnostic measurement equipment.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, making quick decisions and effective repairs.
  • The ability to prioritize urgent repairs while staying on track with routine maintenance schedules.
  • Clear, concise reporting of issues to management and interacting professionally across business functions.
  • HNC or equivalent certification in Engineering Maintenance and Reliability.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • This role involves manual handling as well as working at height and in confined spaces.
