Maintenance Technician – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

Location: Billingham

Shift: Days (Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours a week)

Join our multi-skilled Maintenance team in Billingham and help keep cGMP assets and critical support facilities operating safely and efficiently. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, supporting a highly regulated site with a forward work plan of up to six months.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver safe, compliant maintenance in line with statutory, site and engineering standards.
  • Diagnose faults and complete servicing/repairs to manufacturers’ instructions across E&I (and broader multi-skilled) assets.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and maintenance manuals.
  • Prepare, isolate and reinstate work areas; manage safe handover of plant and equipment.
  • Use cGMP systems and SAP to complete, update and archive all maintenance documentation.
  • Provide daily progress updates via the Engineering planning system.
  • Complete Permit to Work training and accept permits within your trade group.

What you’ll bring

  • Time-served apprenticeship or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Instrument or Mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and experience in a cGMP or other highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised to exacting standards with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
  • Confident using IT systems (e.g., SAP or similar CMMS) and cGMP documentation practices.
  • Clear, concise communication and proactive planning; results-focused mindset.
  • Willingness to develop multi-skill capability across other disciplines.

Working pattern

Core hours with flexibility to support out-of-hours requirements and emergency call-outs as part of the maintenance team rota.
