Maintenance Technician – Recticel Insulation UK, Stoke-on-Trent
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our highly flexible Maintenance and Engineering team at our Stoke-on-Trent production site. This role is key to supporting the safe, reliable and efficient performance of our site assets through reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activity.
Working as part of a team of approximately 12 engineers, you will support a continuous, multi-stage manufacturing process, helping to minimise downtime, improve line performance and maintain high standards across health and safety, quality, delivery, cost and teamwork. Safety is our number one priority, and you will be expected to follow all local, corporate and legislative requirements while actively contributing to a strong safety-first culture.
The role is based predominantly at our Stoke-on-Trent site, which is a Lower Tier COMAH site, with occasional support required for other UK insulation sites. Flexibility is essential, as the role involves shift working, weekend cover where required and the potential adoption of a 24/7 shift pattern as the business continues to grow.

- Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance to support optimum asset performance.
- Supporting production teams with breakdowns, shift handovers and line availability.
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects, problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Following all safety procedures, including lock-off, confined space and working at height requirements.
- Using digital systems to record maintenance activity, productivity, machine efficiency and improvement actions.
- Maintaining clear communication with production supervisors, operatives, engineering colleagues and key internal teams.
What We Are Looking For
- A time-served apprentice-trained engineer with strong electrical, mechanical and/or PLC-related qualifications.
- A minimum of 5 years’ practical post-apprenticeship experience.
- Formal engineering qualifications such as ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Experience in a continuous production environment, ideally within chemical processing or a COMAH-regulated site.
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, PU production plants, metering lines, sawing, dust extraction, gas and dust zoning or HAZOP studies would be advantageous.
- A flexible, logical and proactive approach, with the confidence to work under own initiative and the judgement to ask for support when needed.

What We Offer
Shift Pattern:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 3 x 12-hour shifts.
1 on nights, 1 on days or 2 people who are happy to rotate days and nights between them.
Salary:
- Days shift allowance 15%.
- Nights shift allowance 30%.
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
